This is Me Fooling around with Few Synths on Raspberry Pi. This Box is mainly built for Dexed (DX7 Clone Custom Compiled on this). its Running Patchbox os and a custom NodeJS app I wrote that gives me access to around 39200 or so Distinct DX7 patches from around the web. I converted the 32 patch memory cartridges into single patches and then moved all those patches into a sqlite 3 database. After Removing the Duplicates (from around 100k patches) I am left with 39200 patches eventually. The Patches can be accessed from any web-browser on same network as this Raspi box and a phone or tablet browser works great for this as well was mod-ui/mod-host engine. The Actual OS UI can also be accessed over VNC/RDP from any networked clients (pc/phone/tablets). Long way to go but am liking it already! ~enjoy!
MiniDexed is a FM synthesizer closely modeled on the famous DX7 by a well-known Japanese manufacturer running on a bare metal Raspberry Pi (without a Linux kernel or operating system). On Raspberry Pi 2 and larger, it can run 8 tone generators, not unlike the TX816/TX802 (8 DX7 instances without the keyboard in one box). Featured on HACKADAY.

Sorry for the low video resolution - should be better next time ! This build will require a Teensy 4.1 Microcontroller and a graphical display with 320x240 pixel instead of the traditional 2x16 character text-display. The screen also includes a resistive touch screen that will be concidered in the development. Other than that, we will keep the 2 encoders for interacting with the interface as it is. So, can the #RaspberryPI Zero 2 run a DAW and some #synthesizer and effect plugins? Here's a short improvisation running on Reaper with 7 plugins loaded: 2 x Dexed, 1x TAL Noizemaker, Drum synth and 3 x TAL Reverb III I just let the camera run while improvising this. There's a bit of CPU stress near the end of this video, I guess Linux started swapping there, as the PI has only 512MB RAM. I guess there are some opportunities for optimization here. This is a full track demonstration of my "DB-Force The Amen", an Amen Break Drum Synthesizer VST for Windows. Just one instance of this VST was used for the Amen Drums in this track. All effects and modulations of the drums in this track were processed plugin internal and are fully automatable. The Amen is the legendary "Amen Break", packed in a powerful VST Plugin. No more wasting Your time with slicing and re-arranging Your Amen Break wave file. Just play Your MIDI, turn some knobs and make beats. The Amen Break is already sliced up into it's single drum hits. Each single slice can be triggered by it's own MIDI note. It can be rearranged with no limits, so that You can produce the "Amen"- beat of your choice. It has two types of amp envelopes, one main envelope, which has effect to all slices, and each single slice additionally has it's own envelope for more individual tweakings. It has a multimode filter, an ADSR filter envelope, two LFO's and an effects section with phaser, bitcrusher, distortion and a reverb.
