AudioEngine A2+: 🤍 Learn how to turn your AudioEngine A2's into an awesome 2.1 system with a SUBWOOFER! I've shown you these excellent AudioEngine A2's in a previous video and I just wanted to share with you a little secret that I've found. While using the 3.5mm input jack, you can simultaneously use the RCA inputs as OUTPUTS to any subwoofer! This effectively turns your 2 point system into a 2.1! This eliminates the need for bigger speakers in most cases. AudioEngine A2: 🤍 If you're reading this, THANK YOU! Hit Thumbs Up or Subscribe! AudioeEngine A2+ Review These are pretty damn impressive. Generally speaking they're crystal clear, pack a punch for their size and they look/feel like a premium set of speakers. I've owned an AudioEngine Headphone DAC and have been eyeing down the A5/A6/A2 for ages. When it came time to pickup a set for the turntable/PC then I finally pulled the pin on the A2+. To me its pretty crazy that these came out in 2013, and are the exact same speaker design as the A2 from 2007 (The A2+ just has an added USB DAC and Bluetooth). They look good, sound good, have a minimal footprint and just overall enhance the listening experience whether on PC or on a Turntable. The only downside if the price, these set us back $400 AUD, and they go for about $269 USD. Our train of thought was, if I'm going to spend money on a decent turntable, spend more money on vinyl.. then why cheap out on speakers? These compliment the setup very very well and I hope they can last for many years to come. $400 is fairly steep for generic PC speakers but it's really a drop in the ocean when you're talking about audiophile gear. I think they're appropriately priced. If they were lower they'd be a steal, if they were higher then you'd start to compare it against other offerings. But $400 AUD is a reaaonable mid ground considering the package you're getting here. I've also picked up a Dayton Audio UMM-6 reference mic and am toying with some room calibrations. It takes these to the next level!. SMASH that Sub button and stay tuned for those reference mic videos (and more!). Cheers Legends! Link to Product: Audioengine A2+: 🤍 Search All Audioengine Products: 🤍 Like the Tee Shirt? 🤍 Written Review: So finally after 10 or so years I’m putting my just-wont-die Logitech Z 2300 into retirement. After some extensive research I decided to purchase the Audioengine A2+ Wireless speakers for my PC set up primarily, but also wanted a Bluetooth solution as I frequently swap between multiple Apple Mac computers. This was a hard decision particularly because I was upgrading from a 2.1 setup to a 2.0 speaker system. Thankfully, the Audioengines speakers on their own pack a great punch and I have not missed the extra bass from the Logitech. Later in the video, I have directly compared the sound performance between the A2+ speakers and my Logitech speakers. Now obviously, it's not the fairest comparison in 2020 to pit a 10 year old system against a brand new and also more expensive speaker system. But I do know there is still today a loyal following for Logitech speakers and I would imagine like me, there are plenty of owners starting to get the itch to upgrade. So I hope this is somewhat helpful for you. The bluetooth connection is really my only mild concern with the A2+ speakers, as there are (so far) some occasional (and very, very mild) crackles that can just be heard. However these speakers do need to be run in for 50 hours and thereforeI am not worrying yet. Overall I have found these speakers to be a great upgrade, while I am not an ‘audiophile’ I would certainly recommend them to anyone considering them for anything really including music, gaming, content production and general use, I hope you found this helpful in one way or another, Cheers! I was in the lookout for the best speakers for my desktop setup in our room. I wanted something that isn’t too big just like the ones here at the studio, but I thought that it has to be something that has uncompromised sound quality. My colleague, Emman Tortoza, reviewed the AudioEngine A2+ a couple of months ago. He has excellent thoughts about it, and I realized that it might be the one that perfectly matches my needs: it has to be small and can deliver a memorable punch. Edifier R1280T on bhphotovideo: 🤍 Edifier R1280T on amazon DE: 🤍 Audioengine A2+ on amazon DE: 🤍 Audioengine A2+ is twice as expensive Edifier R1280T and for the most part it does sound like twice as expensive speaker. Especially the midrange quality and clarity is on another level in A2+, but Edifier counters that with much better bass response. If You are looking for very compact speaker that has excellent sound quality and the bass reach is not as important to You than A2+ is a great option. On the other hand R1280T is a great option if You do not want to spend more tha 100 dollars but still need competent speaker with very good bass. What is Your opinion about the these? Would You care to spend so much more on A2+ to have better sound? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers! I rolled the dice on these based on some somewhat critical reviews from others. I absolutely love these and have no current complaints. They are beautiful, sound awesome, get loud, and meet the needs of this amateur editor. To each there own, (and as audio is subjective, rightfully so). Audioengine A2+ on bhphotovideo: 🤍 Audioengine A2+ on amazon DE: 🤍 Bose Companion 2 III on bhphotovideo: 🤍 Bose Companion 2 III on amazon DE: 🤍 - Bose Companion 2 III and Audioengine A2+ are two compact powered speakers very popular amongs the computer users. They represent two different price brackets thought, so it is interesting to hear if A2+ is worth the extra money. As You probably can hear, A2+ sounds much more natural and detailed but also leaner on bass, while Bose shows usual "Bose sound" meaning it sounds bass heavy with bass smearing lower midrange, and top shy. Bose also has highly manipulated response to push the vocals forward. For casual listetning and YouTube video watching Bose is a decent option, but if You are serius about music listetning and want it true to the source than A2+ is worth the extra. What do You think? Have You heard either of these speakers live? If yes, what was Your impression? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers! I FOUND A SOLUTION! Here's an Imgur album showing off the parts mentioned below: 🤍 The problems: One blown MOSFET audio amplifier integrated circuit - $5.00 on Digi-key. This part looks like a large black rectangle that's around the size and thickness of a quarter and it stands up perpendicular to the main green board. The text on the chip reads: TDA72658 CZOLPO2O VW CZ MAR Two blown resistors. These cost a few pennies and can be purchased from the same site as the audio amplifier. They're located on the opposite side of the board from the audio amplifier, and they look like brown/toasted versions of the other resistors. The ones that blew on my board were little resistors colored: yellow, purple, gold, gold (YVGG 4.7 Ohms). Your board might not have any blown resistors or it might have different ones blown. If you can't visually tell if any resistors are damaged, you might need a multimeter to detect which ones are fried or shorted. What you'll probably need: A soldering iron + solder, a new audio amplifier from Digi-key or elsewhere, new resistors (maybe), and patience.
READ OUR REVIEW: 🤍 BUY NOW: Audioengine A2+ Wireless Powered Speakers: 🤍 The A2 powered bookshelf series have been highly regarded as a compact yet powerful desktop/bookshelf speaker. Being fans of #Audioengine ourselves, we were excited to get our hands on the unreleased Audioengine #A2+Wireless and put them to a few tests. Straight out of the box, the Audioengine A2+ Wireless #speakers come in a smooth microfiber bag. There are four bags, two containing accessories and two containing the speaker. The A2+ Wireless shares the same bones as its predecessor, the Audioengine A2+. It’s about 6 inches tall, 4 inches wide, and 5 inches deep. On it you can see a Kevlar woofer and silk dome tweeter. The small size may fool you but it's quite heavy. They come in 3 colors: matte black, matte white, and gloss red and do not come with a grill. But these look good without them. In the left speaker you have the amplifier, volume control, output and input connections. The thing that sets the A2+ and A2+ Wireless apart is the addition of #Bluetooth but Audioengine didn’t settle for the standard Bluetooth. Instead, they used aptX for higher quality bluetooth. For a deeper dive into #aptX read our article on the A2+ Wireless. These speakers are designed and sound best when listening at close proximity, but with the added bluetooth capability, they do a good job of filling a small to medium size roomgiving you the ability to entertain a group of friends, or flexibility to sit away from your speakers when listening.
