When you buy a new record most of the time they are dusty or dirty straight out of the bag, so this video shows you how I go about cleaning my vinyl records. Sometimes the inlay sleeves are plain paper and can stick to the vinyl leaving light scratch marks across the record when taking out the record from the inlay, so I swap out the inlay for a sliky smooth inlay. Once the records have been cleaned they sound so much better, clicking and popping is reduced to a minimum as the records are dust and static free. Then the records are returned to the new silky smooth inlay.

This easy and relatively quick sewing project is a great one to bust out your favorite fabric scraps and fun zippers! Introducing... the Super Simple Vinyl Zipper Pouch, which features fabric, clear vinyl, and bias tape. Download the free pattern templates on the Sewing Report website, then come back and follow the step-by-step video tutorial here. DOWNLOAD FREE PATTERN (link to PDF in this blog post) 🤍 MATERIALS NEEDED: Main + lining fabric (Pieces need to be 21 x 8 inches to fit pattern 2x) *For the main fabric, I recommend using interfaced quilting cotton or a heavier weight fabric like canvas. My preferred fusible interfacing is Pellon Shape Flex SF101. Vinyl for sewing - I used 12 gauge (Piece needs to be 22 x 10 inches to fit pattern 2x) Bias tape - at least 26 inches long - I used prepackaged 1/2 inch double fold bias tape, but other widths can be used Zipper - at least 12 inches Many supplies featured in this video are available in my Etsy Shop 🤍 The Juki DDL-8700 sewing machine is used to sew up the Super Simple Vinyl Zipper Pouch. You will need basic sewing supplies including a sewing machine, coordinating thread, scissors, marking pen, craft clips, iron, pressing board.
