Meet the updated Tesla Model 3! It’s been 7 years since the Model 3 was first unveiled, and this is the biggest design overhaul yet! The question is, how much has changed? Well, Mat’s got hands-on with the car to take a closer look. In terms of the design, there are a few notable changes. Up top, there are a pair of slimmer, sleeker headlights, and there’s also a big central vent as part of the bumper. This helps give it a more aggressive look compared to the previous model. The side profile remains pretty similar to before, apart from a set of new alloy wheel designs. Around the back, the Model 3 comes with updated taillights and a new bumper. The car is also available in a couple of new, exclusive paint colours! On the inside, the look and feel are still pretty similar to before, but there are a couple of notable differences. While the large landscape infotainment screen remains, the dash around it has been updated, with new LED lights added to it. There a better quality materials to be found throughout the cabin compared to before, and the infotainment system has been updated and is much quicker and more responsive than before. The indicator buttons have now also been integrated into the steering wheel. When it comes to performance, the Model 3 still comes with a single-motor RWD edition and a dual-motor long-range edition. However, aerodynamic improvements and overall performance updates mean the car can now travel further, with the single-motor RWD having a range of 346 miles, while the dual-motor can travel for up to 423 miles! The new Model 3 won’t be released in the UK until next year, but thankfully, the price is set to stay pretty similar to before - so you can expect entry-level models to cost around £42,000. But will it be worth the wait? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! Configure a Tesla Model 3 with carwow: 🤍 Mat’s in the driving set of the all-new Tesla Model 3, and he’s about to find out just how different it is from the previous generation. But first up, let’s take a look at what’s changed. When it comes to the design, there are slimmer headlights up front as well as a big central vent in the bumper. There are new alloy wheel designs as well as some specially designed tyres for the car, and around the back, there’s a set of new taillights and an updated bumper. So all-in-all it looks pretty similar, but Tesla claims this is the most aerodynamic car you can buy from its range, which helps with its efficiency! As a result, the new Model 3 can travel further than the old car. It Long Range edition comes with the same 75kWh battery pack as before, while the Standard Range keeps the same 57kWh pack. However, the range on the Long Range car has now been increased from 374 miles to 423 miles! The car also comes equipped with two motors to produce 490hp and 490Nm. On the inside, there are a number of new features. The seats now come with ventilation, and there’s an LED light bar that runs along the side doors and across the dash. The stalks have also been removed from the steering wheel, with indicator buttons now added to it. All-in-all the price remains pretty similar, so you’ll still be likely to pay around £42,000 for an entry-level Model 3. But is it worth it?! You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself! Sul piano delle prestazioni si nota un notevole aumento dell'autonomia, sia con i cerchi da 19" sia con quelli da 18" a fronte di consumi ridotti dell'8%. Una scelta di rilievo è la riduzione della velocità massima a 201 km/h, assolutamente in linea con quanto stanno facendo altri costruttori con auto "autolimitate" per ragioni di sicurezza, cosa che va anche a favore dell'autonomia. Invariati i dati di accelerazione di questa versione a trazione posteriore che, lo ricordiamo, in Italia si può acquistare ancora nella versione 2023 al prezzo (con incentivi e rottamazione) di 36.490 euro. Il prezzo di listino aumenta solo di 1.000 euro a parità di contenuti, largamente compensati dalle innovazioni e dalla miglior efficienza introdotta e rimane per fortuna all'interno del limite dei 42.700 euro previsto per ricevere gli incentivi statali. La Long Range mostra un calo più marcato della velocità massima rispetto alla versione precedente e anche una riduzione meno vantaggiosa del consumo, ma in compenso incide meno l'aumento di prezzo. Molto significativo il dato dell'autonomia con i cerchi da 18" che era già notevole prima, ma ora passa addirittura a quasi 680 km (va detto però che è un dato stimato e non omologato WLTP). Il look dei fari anteriori è diventato molto più aggressivo e filante, principalmente per la forma del gruppo ottico matrix led, che ora è sottolineato dalle luci diurne a led che si sviluppano nella zona inferiore ed è più allungato verso l'interno del paraurti. Scompaiono le prese d'aria a L rovesciata delle versione precedente. Anche le luci posteriori super luminose contribuiscono a questo effetto con una forma a C più snella dove s'insinua una parte verniciata del portellone, che ha una nuova sagomatura; tra l'altro, questo ha permesso di ricavare un maggior volume di carico che è passato da 561 a 594 litri a livello dello schienale posteriore. Nell'elenco delle migliorie è citata anche una miglior penetrazione aerodinamica passata a CX= 0,219; si tenga conto che la precedente era già da record con Cx=0,23. Per finire troviamo i nuovi colori di carrozzeria Ultra Rosso e Grigio Stealth. L'abitacolo punta sulla qualità dei materiali e sull'illuminazione, ma non abbandona la filosofia minimalistica della versione precedente: anzi, semmai la esalta ancor di più, visto che sono sparite le levette ai lati del volante, sostituite con comandi sulle razze e viene introdotta la funzione Smart Shift dove è l'auto e selezionare automaticamente la direzione di guida corretta per iniziare il viaggio, proprio come sulle Model S e Model X attuali. Per i rivestimenti si è preferito l'alluminio spazzolato e il tessuto e l'insieme mostra una maggior attenzione per i dettagli anche nelle aree non immediatamente visibili. Il tunnel centrale, che era stato già rivisto con le 2 postazioni di ricarica per gli smartphone, è stato riprogettato con un rivestimento di alluminio, ampi vani portaoggetti, una porta di ricarica USB-C anteriore e due posteriori, ciascuna con 65 W di potenza massima. L'illuminazione dell'abitacolo è stata resa personalizzabile e più diffusa nello spazio interno, raggiungendo un'area più ampia. Fanno il loro debutto i sedili anteriori con ventilazione e per tutti, anche quelli dietro, il riscaldamento. Una cosa che non si nota a prima vista, ma verrà confermata dalla guida, è la diminuita rumorosità dell'abitacolo - specie per le turbolenze aerodinamiche - grazie all'adozione su tutte le vetrature di cristallo acustico, di nuove boccole per le sospensioni e ad un upgrade dei materiali insonorizzanti. Buone notizie anche per gli audiofili: nuovo il sistema audio progettato e realizzato da Tesla con ben 17 diffusori (Long Range: due subwoofer e 2 amplificatori) e 9 diffusori (RWD: 1 subwoofer e 1 amplificatore) che include il supporto nativo per Spotify, Apple Music e Tidal. Cambia la connettività di bordo con un wifi a doppia banda (2,4 e 5 GHz) e un incremento nella sensibilità delle antenne per la rete cellulare aumentata del 50%. Join us as we get our first look at the 2024 Tesla Model 3 After six years, and blockbuster sales amounting to two million units sold globally, Tesla has given the Model 3 a refresh with aesthetic enhancements, more range, and feature upgrades. Following a fanatical public discourse around numerous spy shots and speculations, the new Model 3 could be one of the most anticipated electric vehicles of the year. The updated Model 3, which was apparently internally codenamed Project Highland, is more chiseled, flaunts a redesigned front and rear, and gets a revamped interior. It has improved aerodynamics to extract more range and to reduce drag and wind noise, Tesla said in its Italian press release.
