However, there’s also an all-electric version available, which is powered by a single motor to deliver 136hp. In terms of price, the entry-level petrol-powered Corsa is pretty affordable, at £17,000. However, should you choose to go all-electric, you’ll have to splash out a bit more, which prices starting from £27,000! The Peugeot 208 and the Opel Corsa are now the same car underneath. But are there any differences making it worth to choose one or the other? Peugeot 208 won the European Car of the Year 2020 title. Launched at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show the second generation 208 is available with a petrol or diesel, as well as an electric powertrain. The sixth generation Opel Corsa is another model produced under the PSA wings. In 2017 the French car giant acquired Opel from GM. This has led to creating of Europe’s second largest car company after the Volkswagen Group. Like the 208, also the Corsa can be ordered with a conventional, or electric powertrain. I’m usually sceptical about too many similar cars coming out from one group. The PSA already has to clearly separate Peugeot and Citroen, and then the DS. On the other hand, since the Volkswagen Group manages to sell Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda, why shouldn’t the PSA cope with Opel? This is no ordinary badge engineering. If I didn’t know underneath the Corsa is the same as the 208, it would take me a while to realise it. The Corsa is half a centimeter longer than the 208, and comes in at 406 cm. It’s mainly due to longer overhangs, because the wheelbase is almost identical - the Peugeot’s wheelbase is 2 mm longer, than the Opel’s. It’s 254 cm. La Opel Corsa fa un passo avanti convinto rinnovando completamente il design del frontale assimilando lo stile Vizor che dà alla linea una bella compattezza oltre che un profilo aerodinamico efficiente. Il nome del modello - un trend oramai consolidato - spicca al centro del portellone. La mascherina nera copre la parte anteriore attraversando la calandra e collegando i fari LED, e il fulmine Opel in un solo elemento. A seconda del livello di allestimento la nuova Opel Corsa può dotarsi di una plancia totalmente rivista fuori e "dentro", con l'adozione di un sistema di processori Snapdragon cockpit appositamente studiato dalla Qualcomm per l'automotive. L'interfaccia con pilota e passeggero cambia e diventa più leggibile e intuitiva, dotata di aggiornamenti OTA (via etere) e connessioni senza filo per i telefoni Apple e Android (nonché la loro ricarica). Nel segmento delle citycar è ancora merce rara potersi dotare di fari LED a matrice attiva per aumentare - e non di poco - la prestazione di illuminazione di notte e con scarsa visibilità Quattordici elementi, ciascuno controllato elettronicamente, svolgono il ruolo di faro anabbagliante automatico. A questa caratteristica di sicurezza è stata aggiunta la nuova videocamera panoramica ad alta risoluzione per la retromarcia, il cruise control adattivo, il limitatore di velocità, il sistema di protezione delle fiancate Flank guard, e l’avviso di collisione anteriore con frenata automatica di emergenza e rilevamento dei pedoni. Due le varianti offerte a batterie: 100 kW/136 CV di potenza e un’autonomia di 357 km oppure 115 kW/156 CV e 402 km (ciclo WLTP). Ricarica rapida a 100 kW, la batteria raggiunge l'80% della capacità totale in soli 30 minuti (20-80%). Ma fra i motori ci sarà anche un mild-hybrid a 48 V da 74 kW/100 CV e 100 kW/136 CV con cambio automatico a doppia frizione.

Erst kürzlich vorgestellt, bietet der Corsa Electric eine Mischung aus klassischem Design und moderner Technologie, die sowohl Corsa-Liebhaber als auch neue Fans der Marke anspricht. Mit einer Länge von 4,06 Metern, einer Breite von 1,96 Metern und einer Höhe von 1,44 Metern ist der Corsa Electric kompakt und wendig, ideal für den städtischen Verkehr. Eine kurze Inspektion unter der Motorhaube zeigt, dass der Corsa Electric keinen Frunk besitzt, was für ein Elektrofahrzeug ungewöhnlich ist. Aber dieser Mangel wird durch andere Merkmale ausgeglichen, wie den Ladeanschluss, der perfekt für Wallboxen und Garagen geeignet ist. Dies könnte für einige ein Hindernis sein. Dennoch ist der Opel Corsa Electric eine beeindruckende Ergänzung zur Welt der Elektromobilität.
