This is my reinterpretation of Papa D's vision. Howard Scott, the song's co-writer, already gave me the green light to put it out in the world. I used all Portland musicians. Got Lech and Lorenzo from the Ca Honeydrops to do background vocals with me. It was a collaborative effort with my friends. I really wanted to make the point that the "Ghetto" now, is worldwide and everyone lives in it. I also tried to make the point that the term "Ghetto", no longer refers to an all "Black" section or part of a town or city. All of us live in this "New Ghetto" of Un and Under Employment, no health care, drugs, homelessness, mental health issues, disease, hunger and natural disasters and it's gonna take ALL OF US TO GET OUT OF THIS NEW GHETTO. In 2020, it's a "human being" problem. Trump may be going away but the problems still remain. It truly is going to take all of us to fix the World if in fact, that's possible. I hope it is, but for right now, the World is Still a Ghetto! When someone dies, we always say, "Rest In Peace"! What we need to do is learn to "Live in Peace"! Please give to any regional, City wide, or State wide organization, collective or Non-profit that is addressing any one of these problems for the betterment mankind, any and everywhere. Who doesn't want to be healthy, well fed, live in a safe neighborhood or environment, have healthy children, the best schools and education for their children, a roof over their and their children's heads, very safe and secure without fear for your life? EVEN IN NATURE, THE MOTHER PROTECTS HER YOUNG AND THE ALPHA PROTECTS THE HERD and THEY ALL DRINK from THE SAME WATERING HOLE. These should be basic HUMAN PRINCIPALS THAT SHOULD GUIDE EVERYONE'S LIFE. Greed and callousness has replaced empathy and compassion! We (Human Beings) have the resources to end everyone of these problems. Wake up, everybody and Share, lest people forget the incredible amount of work there is STILL to do! God Bless us all! "Fantasy is what people want, but Reality is what they need!" ~ Lauren Hill ~ Chuk Barber Percussionist for the Lowrider Band (The REAL WAR)
