I am in Saranda (Albania) and we are going to spend few days together on this beautiful part of Albania. To be honest, I AM SHOCKED! Location: Tirana, Albania Recorded: April 24, 2022 Vlog 136 In this vlog we headed from Budva in Montenegro to Tirana in Albania! We started off by taking a bus from Budva to Podgorica, which is the capital of Montenegro. From there, we caught a bus that crossed the Albanian border and dropped us off in the city center of Tirana! We then took a taxi to the airport, because we wanted to rent a car, and then drove finally to our Airbnb. Our Airbnb in Tirana was great! We hung out for a few hours before picking up our friend from college Davina in the middle of the night. The next day, we explored Tirana. We got some breakfast in the morning at Skanderberg square, toured the bunker museum and went to all the major monuments and places to see in Tirana. We were planning on staying a few hours longer in Tirana, however, we almost got robbed, and certainly got verbally assaulted. Watch near the end of the video to see what we mean! After this traumatic experience, we immediately left Tirana, and did a cool 4 hour drive down to Sarande in the south! Albania 🇦🇱a country known for so many things it’s difficult to choose. From amazing beaches to cute Balkan-style villages and towns like Berat and Gjirokaster, the most delicious food and the cutest and most welcoming people. This is my first time here and before I get deeper into the country, I came to visit Tirana, the capital of Albania. Tirana is an ancient city full of culture, with thousands of coffee shops. Yeah, for some reason people REALLY like coffee here 😃🙌 and they make some of the best coffee I’ve ever tried. Anyhow, this video is about something that caught my attention in Tirana, and it’s the fact that everywhere you walk there are new buildings being constructed, but not just regular buildings, very cool architectural buildings. Tirana is a seismic area so the buildings are not very high, but in contrast, they put big efforts into creating something unique. All the new buildings have special colors, shapes, and concepts 💪 it’s very interesting to see a city making efforts to create a sense of uniqueness in their infrastructure. You can see these efforts also in the walking street lights, which are uniquely shaped as a “T” for Tirana. Location: Albanian Riviera Recorded: April 24-28, 2023 Vlog 137 In this vlog, we made our way south to enjoy the beautiful Albanian Riviera. We decided to stay in Sarandë and visit the rest of the cities nearby with our rental car. First of all, our hotel is stunning. We stayed at the Hotel Palma! It was a quick 25 minute drive to the beaches of Ksmail. We visited in late April, but this is still considered off-season, so there were not many restaurants open. We enjoyed the beaches all to ourselves, had some of the freshest mussels, and met the kindest local people.
