With ELEX 2, the latest third person RPG from the studio, this trend continues, but steps – however small – are being made to move past the stereotypes, and hopefully towards better things in the future. ELEX 2 takes place some time after the events of the first game. For newcomers, the sequel could have done a better job of bringing them up to speed on the events and characters of that world, especially given that many return. Players once again assume the role of a gruffly voiced protagonist named Jax. He is a defined character, so there's no visual customization at all. It's the first of many, many unique choices that the game makes that may appeal or discourage fans of more traditional western RPGs. After pretty much saving the fantasy world of Magalan in the first game, Jax has been trying to warn people about the new looming threat, but nobody took him seriously. One day, that threat finally arrives in the form of apparent alien life forms named Skyands, and in his first encounter with them he manages to get infected. Now suffering from an unknown ailment and without support, he encounters a scientist who is trying to stop the alien threat as well. The scientist promises to help Jax find a cure for his infection, if in return he helps form a new faction and unite the others in the fight against the aliens. From here begins a lengthy narrative as Jax visits every faction in this open world, trying to win their favor and perhaps even join them as a member, all the while gaining companion allies and building up forces at the base called The Bastion. As far as factions go, there's the Albs, emotionless people who Jax was once a part of. The Berserkers and the Outlaws are rough and tough groups that do things their own way. And the Clerics and the Morkons are two factions that place their beliefs above all else. He will also encounter many characters from the previous game, who will be quick to remind him of their differences and personal history. There are even quick flashbacks, though they often don't have enough detail. The story carries a decent pace, and the quests will take you around the map to every faction eventually. The game does run into annoyances in its second half, where all your quests become treks to every far corner of the world, or having to eliminate a random large group of enemies, which gets repetitive. Where ELEX 2 does succeed is creating an intriguing and believable world, through its writing and occasional player choices. The dialog is well crafted and uniquely laden with modern mannerisms and cursing, and yet it has a certain appeal. Jax's business-first attitude (which can change depending on your dialog selections) has a strange magnetism, and his self-assuredness carries the narrative, which helps justify why he isn't a customizable hero. As Jax visits these factions, he will have to convince them to join the cause by earning their trust – which usually means doing many quests. The quests again range in their quality, though most are at least endearing and off-beat, which is not something you'd find in a typical triple-A western production. With some extra polish and fine tuning, the story and quests would be possibly on par with what a much bigger studio would have delivered. This is a Performance Mod / .ini Tweak I made to help higher end cards gain up to 20 FPS in open areas. This was designed for 6900 XT users and it has to be ran on all HIGH settings to work. This is for AMD users with RX 6700 to RX 6900XT video cards and you have to run it at 1440P or below. IT does not help at 4K at all. I have not tried it with nvidia cards, but something equivalent to amd above. Req rtx 2070 or rtx 3060ti or higher recommended as it needs to be able to run on all settings to high. This is not for lower end video cards sorry. I may work on making a low / Mid range tweak at a later time. Link to tweak file on nexus mods is here... 🤍

Problem was fixed with Patch 1, one week after Release. Unfortunately Elex 2 is not working on Windows with AMD Vega GPUs. Only the sky and clouds are visible. This is reported by different magazines and users. For example German Computerbase: 🤍 Or PC Games Hardware: 🤍 It works under Linux: 🤍

And if for some reason you haven't played the first game, then you might be in even more need of some basic guidance to get you started. Als riesiger Fan von Gothic, als auch großer Fan von Elex, war ich auf den brandneuen Nachfolger gespannt. Nach knapp über 20 Stunden Spielzeit in der ich das erste Kapitel vollständig erkundet habe, also die Welt, die Fraktionen, und alle Quests, die hier verfügbar sind, als auch Teile der Geschichte darüber hinaus will ich mit euch meine Eindrücke teilen. Es gibt stark positive Veränderungen im Gameplay, aber auch deutliche Rückschritte bei den Quests. I've enjoyed playing Elex 2 and it has some critical improvements to offer over Elex 1, however, there are still some things that I miss from Elex 1 which either didn't make their way into the sequel, or whose effects were lessened in the sequel. About the game: Elex 2 is the latest video game from the developer, and despite fulfilling the promise of giving life to a really open and ambitious role-playing experience, it leaves a certain bitter aftertaste for certain design decisions and optimization failures. Let's start with the elephant in the room: combat. Whoever expected a reimagining of the combat system of the first Elex is going to take a disappointment, and that is that the essence remains exactly the same. The hand-to-hand combat still feels terribly rough, although the option to shoot brings some variety. However, we are still in the same: the weapons at a distance feel much more powerful, and although it is good to have a combination of both I have always ended up using my reliable shotgun to spend the last third of the game. Although these weapons at a distance feel absolutely devastating, it is impossible not to assess the enormous amount of options that we find in the game. Several factions (Albos, Berserkers, and Morkonos) feature unique combat spells, while the rest have unique recipes and other perks. It is quite satisfying to try options until you find the key, and is that one of the things I liked most about Elex 2 download free has been the search for the most optimal combat formula. Elex 2 doesn't claim to be a balanced game, and I think that's a fantastic thing. The most dedicated players have a million ways to approach the game, while those looking for the most "broken" solutions also have a good handful of hours of research ahead of them. A review/critique/analysis of Elex, comparing and contrasting it with other open-world action-adventure RPGs Skyrim and The Witcher 3. With Elex 2 just on the horizon, I wanted to take a closer look at the first game and shine a spotlight on some of its more notable design features for which I feel it doesn't get enough credit, in hopes of maybe drumming up interest in Elex 2 and the series in general. While not a perfect game, Elex gets a lot of important things right, I feel, which makes it a much more compelling and enjoyable experience for me than other, similar games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3. This video is designed to be as spoiler-free as possible for all games (I won't be ruining any major story elements or plot twists or going into detail examining the main quest-line for each game, in other words), but I will be showing outcomes to certain individual side quests and specific situations in order to showcase how the games treat their mechanics and subject matter. I consider these to be minor and inconsequential to one's enjoyment of the games, and thus should not have any adverse effect on the experience should you choose to watch this video and then play any of the three games for the first time thereafter.
