This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 G-Wagon luxury SUV. This Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 has a handcrafted 4L twin-turbo V8 with a 9-speed automatic transmission, 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. It goes 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. The Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 is hand built and signed by its own craftsman. It gives you instant acceleration at any speed and its massive torque reaches its 627 lb-ft peak at 1300 rpm and holds it all the way to 4000 rpm. Standard AWD with a 2-speed transfer case, 4-wheel drive and three lockable differentials to help tackle different terrains and conditions. Each differential can be locked in sequence, centre, rear, then front via a set of buttons on the dash to help maintain the ideal balance of torque and traction for the situation you are in. This Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 model has an AMG performance exhaust system, a high-performance braking system and an adaptive damping suspension. The Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 has a rugged, boxy design with AMG styling that is just so cool looking. It comes standard with 21” wheels, available 22” wheels, an AMG grille, classic round headlamps with active LED technology, stainless steel running boards, power folding side mirrors, heat and noise insulating glass and the option of chrome, gloss or matte black exterior accents and an available black roof. The cabin of the Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 is modern and clean with dual 12.3” screens, Nappa leather interior, available Nappa leather with diamond stitching, there’s different trim pieces including natural woods, 64-colour ambient lighting, a sunroof with heat rejecting glass, the door handles feel bank vault precise, the cabin is comfortable, spacious and there’s plenty of storage. The Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 starts at $242,000 CAD/$179,000 USD. While it might look cool, don’t expect great fuel economy, it gets 19.5L/100 km, 13 MPG city and 15.5L/100 km, 16 MPG highway. Shaped like a box the G-Wagon is such a unique SUV on the market and nothing quite stacks up! Today we take a look at this newest generation 2020 Mercedes G63 AMG to see what it has to offer! The G63 on the used market go for $150,000 at the low end and are very popular! Tis Polar White G63 had a sweet style with a blacked out theme. I love the bull bar on the front pumper to help keep the bumpers in good shape! Towing 6,500 pounds the G63 is actually pretty capable for a true utility. With 577 HP and 627 TQ the G63 is fast! 9 speed transmission and 4MATIC really let the power hit the ground and it sounds amazing! Really nothing competes with a G63 and it drives so well. While the G Wagon isn't the most practical SUV for its size and price, it still is plenty roomy for 4 people and luggage. The interior refinements of the new G63 are top notch with what you'd expect from Mercedes. Amazing leather and nice materials. The G63 can also go off roading and tackle pretty much any terrain you throw its way! It’s time for an almighty AMG G63 off-road battle! We’ve got Mat in the old AMG G63, and he’s going head-to-head against the latest generation G63 over a series of off-road challenges to see just how different these two cars are! The thing is, under the skin, it’s no surprise that these two are pretty identical. Starting with the old G63, it’s powered by a 5.5-litre V8 which can produce 540hp and 760Nm of torque. It comes with a ladder frame chassis and 3 lockable diffs, and if you’re looking to pick one up today it’ll cost you around £70,000. Then we have the new G63. It’s swapped the 5.5-litre V8 for a 4-litre V8, but the power output has been increased to 585hp and 850Nm! It’s also built on a ladder frame chassis with 3 lockable diffs, and the weight is almost identical, at around 2,500kg. However, whereas the old G63 can be bought for around £70,000, you’ll need to spend over £100k MORE on a new edition! So is it worth it? Stick with Mat and see for yourself! In this video I talk about why I think the Mercedes Benz AMG G63 is so desirable. The Mercedes G-Class has been around for several decades and Mercedes recently gave it a refresh. Beyond the new looks, the G63 still looks like an old school, military inspired, boxy SUV, which is a great thing. Its great because the AMG G63 G-Class looks like nothing else on the road and offer an experience that cannot be matched by the competition. With its big, torquey, V8 and thunderous quad exhaust, the AMG G63 is also a very quick SUV. Given its size, it can definitely get up and go! The interior was also vastly improve in this generation and this example in the review has the most expensive interior upgrade you can get. Is the G-Glass AAMG G63 desirable? The doors are some of the most unique in the industry They are super heavy and you have to slam them to close them Most cars at this price point have soft close door but this has hard close door And most cars at this price point, and really all price points have a touchpad on the door handle to lock or unlock the car…not here…gotta use the key fob 3:55 - No Pano roof 4:15 - Fuel Economy Here you get 14 or 15 mpg combined. Which is obviously terrible 4:38 - Driver assist suite isn’t brilliant – Good: 5:28 - The Sounds This SUV makes some of the coolest sounds on the market 6:00 - The Speed & Power Followers of the channel ill know about the sweet spot I have in my heart for AMG V8s I love the power, the sound, and that they’re hand-built by a select few in Affalterbach This one is a familiar 4.0TT V8 and here it’s making 577 hp and 627 lbft 7:07 - The history Mercedes has been making the G Wagon for over 50 years now 7:26 - The Driving Drama Driving something like this is just a special experience I mean I’m not going to tell you it drives as competently as a Cayenne or Q8, but this is way better than it used to be and I smile WAY more behind the wheel of this than any other SUV 8:19 - The Looks This is where I usually say looks are subjective, but I think, as a society, we’ve made it pretty clear that we all love the G-wagon and it looks awesome 9:21 - Interior For this point I want to focus on the specialness of certain aspects of the cabin that put the G above any other offroader out there 10:02 - Luxuries It’s no surprise that in your healthy 6-Figure Mercedes that you’d have some nice things, but let’s remember this thing started as a military vehicle and they want to stick close to the vehicles roots But you get all the modern things you’d expect Like heated and cooled front seats Massaging front seats Heated steering wheel Heated rear seats 10:45 - Rear seats We talked about these a little on the negative side in terms of spaciousness, but they’re still a decent place to spend time as long as your legs aren’t that long But you do have great headroom in here You get heated rear seats You get your own climate zone and vents You get chargers, cupholder, and pockets, and all the usual stuff So as long as you have enough legroom it’s actually not bad at all back here 11:17 - The Offroad stuff This is something we talked a lot about in the G550 since it’s the more dedicated offroader, but even here in your full performance AMG you still get one of the most capable offroaders money can buy You have short overhangs for approach and departure You have the brush bar up front You have a full size spare on your trunk door And on the interior you have 3 lockable diffs - you dont get that anywhere else You also have a low range for your transmission for crawling And you have the oh shoot handle I mean with some proper tires on this thing you genuinely could go just about anywhere And if you don’t believe me, watch Paddy McGuiness jump a G63…not a G550, a 63…and then continues to drive around Europe afterward…insane 12:09 - The Cool factor I try not to talk about subjective things too much here, and I try to keep things as objective and factual as possible, but when you talk about something like a G-Wagon it carries a certain mystique with it As a society we’ve determined it’s friggin cool - I don’t know a single person who DOESN’T like the G They may not like some of the things we talked about in the frist half of this video like the price or door that you need to go to the gym to close… But even with all its little flaws I would love to have one of these and I think most everyone else would too It’s just cool 12:50 - Outro

The Mercedes-AMG G63 4x4 Squared ($367,995 as spec'd in the US) and the 2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante ($319,957 as spec'd in the US) are both upgraded, more specific goal-focused versions of themselves. The Urus Performante sees some serious suspension upgrades, a small power jump, and weight savings over the base Urus to help improve its ability on the track. Meanwhile the G63 4x4 Squared has been given the hardcore off-roader treatment with bigger tires, portal axles, loads of clearance and helpful gadgets like a roof-mounted light bar to help it conquer any terrain. Surely these two vehicles are only used for their serious performance-focused purposes, and definitely not for strolling down the promenade hoping to be seen by the pretty people.
