An unexpected spiritual sequel to his own famous 2013 Deep Down mod, a false sequel to Episode 2 where all of HL2/Ep2's gameplay and enemies were reinvented for an increasing challenge. It was followed by the short mod "Aftermath". This time, 🤍00:00 : WHITE FOREST : We can witness some scripted sequences at the Resistance's HQ, fight our way through some headcrab-infested rooms, before going out with Alyx, D0G and the Muscle Car For some reason the sequence was "looped" and the next part of the walkthrough re-starts at 🤍26:46 🤍31:00 : RAVINE-OUS : We make our way through Combine bases to open doors on the road, get the G-Gun, and of course face various puzzles. 🤍59:48 : LAKESIDE DRIVE : A map near a seaport with a crane-centered puzzle. Some challenges also along the coast. 🤍01:37:41 : STATION 17 : The last coastside Combine outpost with a sniper to take out, then some underground installations of course filled with Antlions, and an Antlion Guard we have to kill with no weapons. 🤍02:25:27 : DEEPER DOWN : The last chapter is an underground Citadel-like base where our main objective is revealed : Shut down the Overwatch system, the all-watching Combine A.I. Last challenges here are activating lightning bridges, fighting Striders with dark energy balls or Magnusson bombs. Overall, it wasn't as impressive as the original Deep Down but still an interesting challenge which once again twists classics HL2's elements to give die hard fans, some new mechanics with "vanilla" material. The main point of interest in both projects are the extensive use of Alyx as a companion even though I encountered some bugs here and there (the funniest being at 🤍01:15:48)

Alyx and Gordon continue for the hunt of the surviving Combine Advisors around White Forest. There is one located in a mine, so the duo must drive through the woods and any enemy that gets in their way to get to the advisor and kill it. This mod is truly amazing! It makes me feel that it can be a bonus DLC for Episode Two! It really feels like that! The environment was awesome, the enemies were perfect, and of course Alyx's lines were pretty fitting! We start off our story with yet another attack on White Forest! XD It wasn't as big this time, it was only Combines, Artillery Canisters, and Scanners. Hey no prob, it's not like we needed to stay. Now there were parts in the mod that I did get stuck on, the puzzles. If I can't figure them out and once I'm done it seemed so obvious, that's what I like! Hard puzzles, but not impossible. It's a nice break from the action! I liked using the crane again as well, even though I wasn't able to kill a single Combine using it. The Left 4 Dead and HL Movie posters were pretty funny! A game advertising their own games, what will they think up next? XD Anyways, it was nice seeing Combine in an Antlion infested mine! Get to kill two different types of aliens, and not to mention it seemed like a secure Combine base. This is one of the only mods with Ground Turrets, and you don't see many of those! I was quite surprised to see Striders in the underground tunnels, but were crouched the whole time. It seemed very fitting! The final battle with the advisor was pretty easy since only one energy ball blast and it blows up! Alyx being captured was a good idea because I get to be at peace finally! :P We don't need Alyx ALL the time! Anyways, amazing mod! The ai_disable ain't cheats, it's a thing we (hl2 mods community) call "Node Graph Cancel" - Basically, in some mods, mappers forgot to put .ain files completely into the map folder, or they are the wrong version just like in this case. The game tries to build them for you, but you can cancel this by saveloading, which results into ai_disable.
