In 2016, New Zealand sent five ultimate frisbee teams to the World Ultimate and Guts Championships (WUGC) in London, England. It was the first campaign where New Zealand Ultimate (NZU) fielded a team in each division: Taniwha (Open), Whaitiri (Women’s), Manuka (Mixed), Kotare (Women’s Masters), and Tuatara (Men’s Masters).
