Bakmut only a few months ago was lauded as strategic for the Ukrainians, it was vital in terms of supply lines and transportation of hardware, now all of a sudden it is not, as per this expert. So why are the ukrainian forces fighting and attempting to hold it? It is a total waste of resources otherwise, its also a total waste of lives. Something doesn't stack up?

He's talking nonsense, Bakhmut is a key town because the town is a key for artillery positions. Russia controlling it can shell everyone in the area for hundreds of miles, its a key artillery area not a Wagner trophy. Wagner are trying to take it because they are supposed to be among the best they have, so many losses though have weakened them and new recruits are not good at all.
