It was so amazing in fact, that I quit playing altogether for around 7 months now! Brilliant. Jokes aside, that's been on of the main reasons for the slower output of videos and the lack of WoW ones. I just didn't enjoy the game at all anymore, all my hope for it just ran out and I all my hope in Blizzard pretty much ran out. Cause of that, my inspiration and passion for making WoW videos kinda took a big hit. With Dragonflight announced, this is the first expansion I look at that I probably won't really care to try or purchase. A part of me still huffs on some copium and wishes all could just magically go back to normal and everything is great again so I can just play and enjoy the game, but I don't know if that's going to be as simple anymore. But oh well, I've always had fun making WoW videos and joking about silly topics that have to do with the game, so I'll probably try to continue making some of those whenever I can! World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has been an expansion that many of us have given up on, choosing instead to play either Classic World of Warcraft, The Burning Crusade, or move on to other MMORPGs and their communities. With forgettable gameplay, a boring storyline, and an emphasis more on making political statements than making memorable and epic gaming experiences, Blizzard's reputation has fallen into being a near-laughing stock in the gaming community as a whole. But is it all really that bad? Recently, here on Nixxiom, we made a video called "Should We Give Shadowlands Another Chance?" which many of you were very divided on. Some supported the idea, saying that Shadowlands Patch 9.2 was one definately worth checking out and playing. Others said to just give up on World of Warcraft entirely, move on and find a new main game to play. And although there might be truth and joy to be found in both those points of view, I had to come up with a conclusion for myself. Is Shadowlands worth playing again? Recently over on my stream I decided to reinstall World of Warcraft and put this divisive expansion to the test once again. Ultimately, how you feel about Shadowlands as an expansion will probably depends on how you feel about World of Warcraft. If you’re someone who likes World of Warcraft’s focus on accessibility, you’ll love Shadowlands because this is likely the most accessible the game has been. Leveling is pretty easy and doesn’t take long, and the game does a good job of intruding new elements slowly. That, combined with its beautiful art, excellent soundtrack, and likable characters make Shadowlands an expansion that almost anyone can play and one that’s hard to dislike. I did have a couple of quests bug out on me during my time with the expansion, but it was nothing abandoning and restarting them couldn’t fix. Other than that, this is a very easy game to play and enjoy, whether you’re new to the game or returning after some time off.

Steven en Michael vertellen het jullie in de World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Review. Shadowlands in de schaduw of spotlight? De nieuwste World of Warcraft expansion is een uniek geval. Zo was het de eerste WoW expansion die niet is uitgekomen op zijn oorspronkelijke datum. De expansion was namelijk bedoeld om uit te komen op 27 oktober, maar werd uitgesteld naar 23 november. Dit zou zijn gedaan om bepaalde punten aan de game te polishen en balanceren. Bijvoorbeeld de endgame content. Kortom, de puntjes moesten op de i gezet worden. Heeft deze extra maand ervoor gezorgd dat de game nu ook echt af is? Tower of Terror Na voorganger 'Battle for Azeroth' is dit de volgende stap in de verhaallijn van World of Warcraft. Waar Battle for Azaroth aanvoelde als dagelijkse klusjes die je moest doen om op niveau te blijven, voelt Shadowlands aan als een ervaring waar je lekker je eigen tempo kan bepalen. Met de komst van Torghast, Tower of the Damned is het voor mensen die het sociale aspect van WoW links laten liggen een verfrissende toevoeging. Je kan er voor kiezen om dit alleen te doen of samen met andere mensen (max 5). Natuurlijk zoals altijd, hoe meer mensen je toevoegt aan je raster hoe moeilijker de vijanden worden. Hoe meer karakters hoe meer vreugde Voor het eerst in een lange tijd heeft Blizzard geluisterd naar de spelers en is het levelen voor 'Alts' een stuk makkelijker gemaakt. Door middel van de 'Threads of Fate' kan je er nu voor kiezen om of de storyline door te spelen of bonus objectives te doen en side quests. Oftewel, je hoeft niet met elk karakter dezelfde storyline door te spelen. Weinig content voor PvP spelers Na lang zeuren hebben de PvP spelers eindelijk de pvp vendors weer terug gekregen. In plaats van je gear baseren op random drops, kan je nu toewerken naar items die je nodig heb door middel van honor en conquest. Minpunt blijft wel dat er geen Battlegrounds zijn toegevoegd waardoor je nog steeds Battlegrounds van voorgaande expansions moet spelen. Wel hebben spelers een nieuwe arena gekregen in de stijl van Bastion. Vooralsnog is er helaas nog geen nieuws over de toevoeging van een Battleground. Maar levert Shadowlands genoeg nieuws? Een uniek moment Het gebeurt niet vaak dat een WoW expansion niet uit komt op zijn originele releasedate. Blizzard is altijd behoorlijk punctueel. Toch overkwam dat Shadowlands. In een update, uitgebracht op 1 oktober 2020, liet John Hight, de executive producer van World of Warcraft, weten dat er meer tijd nodig was om de game te polishen en te balanceren. Met name de endgame verdiende wat extra aandacht. En dat was toch wel een uniek moment voor Blizzard, WoW en de WoW community. Voor het eerst in een ontzettend lange tijd werd er een expansion uitgesteld. Zien Steven en Michael dat dit maandje het verschil heeft gemaakt? Ze speelden de beta immers grijs. Of had deze expansion misschien zelfs nog wat meer tijd nodig gehad? The Story Continues World of Warcraft is een van de langst draaiende games in de geschiedenis van gaming. Het is dus ook niet zo gek dat deze game inmiddels een gigantische community heeft opgebouwd. Een groot deel van deze community keert bij iedere expansion terug om het verhaal voort te zetten. Sylvanas Windrunner heeft de helm van de Lich King vernietigd waardoor de Shadowlands zijn geopend, oftewel de Realm of the Dead. In totaal zijn er vier gebieden om te exploren, ieder met een eigen covenant. Jij voegt je bij een van deze gebieden. En dat is nog maar het begin. Have you leveled a new character in World of Warcraft recently? Well, you might've noticed that it pretty much sucks and needs some MAJOR overhauling. And this is a shame too because if Blizzard Entertainment wants to draw in more players to World of Warcraft, they can't have their introduction to the game be so lackluster.
